Trauma, pain and
illness strike at the worst possible times.
It isn't always easy to run to the store to
buy an item. The following is a list of products
we keep on hand for use in our human and animal
first aid situations. They are generally natural
in origin which means less stress to the system
when they are used, and few, if any side effects.
Bach Rescue Remedy is a flower
remedy useful for children, pets and adults
in times of trauma, shock and serious stress.
It is safe and has no side effects.
Homeopathic First Aid kits
are available through various brand name distributors.
Often, you can get one for pets and one for
humans. They usually come in nice carrying cases
with brief instructions for the use of each
remedy. So even if you are not a dowser, these
are valuable to have and easy to use. Again,
this is subtle energy medicine and has no side
effects.
A pure source of powdered bentonite
clay for use in drawing poultices and
to help with diarrhea or toxins in the system
is a wonderful product. Some clays come from
sources contaminated with mercury. Use Dynamite
Miracle Clay for best results.(www.dynamitemarketing.com/jessicalyman;
under Multispecies and Topical)
Essential oils are another
excellent first aid remedy, but not all are
high quality. The one oil we would always keep
on hand is Tea Tree Oil. Useful for a huge list
of internal and skin issues as well as bites,
burns and rashes, this is a first aid kit in
a bottle. Get a good brand like Melaleuca or
Dynamite for best results. Australian Tea
Tree Oil Guide by Cynthia Olsen is a nice
small book that summarizes many healing applications.
Castor oil is an amazing
healing oil often recommended by Edgar Cayce.
We have used it successfully to heal sprains
(using packs) and eye infections (applied in
eye by dropper). It is safe for use in the eyes
of pets, and is a folk remedy for scratched
eyes in hound dogs. The book The Oil That
Heals by William A. McGarey, M.D., is a
good resource for applications.
Herbs are a cornucopia for
healing, but the trick is to know how to use
them. You can get side effects by using the
wrong herb, or too much. So although herbs are
a favorite of ours, the only one we will recommend
for your First Aid Kit is Osha Root
extract. We like this even better than
Echinacea and Goldenseal for colds and flu.
It has antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial
properties. Warning: it tastes awful.
An alternative to Osha Root for colds, flu,
etc., is colloidal silver.
The only brand we recommend is Dynamite.(www.dynamitemarketing.com/jessicalyman;
under Multispecies and Topical, product name
Solace) Silver is a natural antibiotic.
If you use a cheap preparation, you can end
up loading silver into your body. That won't
happen with the Dynamite brand when used as
directed. Silver has the benefit of being less
obnoxious in taste. So children and pets will
be more inclined to take it.
Bleeding is always a scary
situation. We keep a bottle of Dynamite Trace
Mineral Concentrate on hand for open wounds.
Trace Mineral Concentrate (www.dynamitemarketing.com/jessicalyman;
under Multi- Species and Topical) is a natural
mineral liquid. Applying it to a wound will
stop bleeding quickly. Even arterial bleeding
in many cases will stop. You will notice it
has a super-glue type effect, and the wound
will close faster. It may be taken internally
as a supplement for trace minerals. Taken internally
in larger doses, it will create a detoxifying
effect.
The trick to having a good first aid kit is
to know how to use each item. When trauma occurs,
you need to react quickly and appropriately.
- Keep your medicinals in one location. If
you are not used to using them, write up a
short guide for them. Don't stare at bottles
wondering which one stops bleeding. It is
helpful to have them in a carrying case.
- Make a list or cheat sheet that anyone in
the family can follow.
- Put warnings as appropriate for each item.
- Keep your kit in a cool, dry place away
from EMFs.
- Replace products periodically to ensure
freshness and effectiveness. Most of these
products will last for years if stored properly.
